For all of you Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart fans, NASCAR is back in town this coming weekend, April 7th through the 9th! Come on down to Texas Motor Speedway and fulfill that inner need-for-speed!
Please be aware that the race times have changed from what local race fans are typically accustomed to. This year the race festivities officially start on Thursday, with the main races being held on Friday night and Saturday night. That’s right; there will be no Sunday race at this event. The Samsung Mobile 500 will be held Saturday night, April 9th. This is the first ever nighttime Sprint Cup Series race in all of Texas Motor Speedway’s history.
The RV park started filling up last Saturday with motor homes, 5th wheels and tents. I do feel sorry for those hanging around in Tent City; can you imagine camping out in all of this wind? If you’re planning on taking your RV out there, remember the earlier the better. As each day gets closer to opening race day thousands of serious race fans in their RVs will be rolling in.
Looking for free tickets? The Texas Motor Speedway website has a link for four free tickets to the Thursday night races. Sorry, I don’t have information on free tickets for the Saturday night race!
Get out your black and white checkered flags! Invite your friends and family to what has proven to be an incredible party with seating for about 230,000 of your closest friends. Please remember, bring your ear plugs!
