Autumn Activities in Dallas
Despite 90+ degree temperatures, autumn has officially arrived! With Halloween decorations (and sometimes Christmas decor) ready for purchase in most retail stores, I’m giddy with excitement.
This is my favorite time of the year. There are so many cool events lined up in the DFW area, but fear not, I’ve planned our weekends accordingly.
I’ve never visited Fright Fest Six Flags Of Texas so what better time than the month of October? By then, the weather will have cooled a few temperatures. I’m eager to ride the kiddo rides and explore all this amusement park has to offer.
Next up is the the State Fair of Texas. This is the place to be! Though we skipped out on it last year, we’ll be sure to say hello to Big Tex and sample the much publicized fried bubblegum. I’m eager to view the craft exhibits and animals. If we’re lucky, we’ll win a few toys at the Midway.
With Halloween around the corner, how could we possibly miss the Arboretum? From now thru November 23rd, their “Autumn at the Arboretum” boasts Cinderella’s Pumpkin Village (think pumpkins galore), Cinderella’s Carriage (a perfect excuse to dress your kiddos up in Disney costumes for those photo ops), a maze and (last but not least) pumpkin patch. I plan to pack up the kids, a cooler filled with food, don my witch hat for good measure and a fully charged camera for the visit.
Also on our “must see” list is Dallas Children’s Theatre’s Alexander and the Terrile Horrible No Good Very Bad Hair Day. Based on the book by Judith Viorst, this will be a sure hit with my family.
Well? What are you waiting for? Grab your Starbuck’s red cup filled with pumpkin spice latte and get a moving.
