DIY Kids Halloween Costumes

I used the word “Halloween” in the title, but admittedly, we don’t actually celebrate Halloween by trick or treating door to door.  We do, however, attend a couple of fall carnivals where the kids enjoy dressing up.  There’s been talk in the house of this year’s costumes.  As I’ve scoured the internet for ideas, there have been some great finds out there…

Love your ideas… I think the raining cats & dogs one is just too cute! Might try that with my 3-year old twins (who are reluctant to get dressed up in anything too restrictive, but would jump at the chance to twirl one of those bad boys!). I’ve already made a costume for my eldest (who is utterly Lego obsessed) … he’s going as Sensei Wu! A lego ninjago character, or so I was reliably informed! Check out my attempt at a homemade costume! http://mamawithideas.blogspot.com/2011/10/sensei-who-no-sensei-wu-duh.html

I love the paper doll, so cute and clever! My son didn’t care for the lego costume(although he’s a major lego fan) but it gave him the idea to dress as lego “Bob”. Any suggestions for a cylindicular head are much appreciated. Thanks for the ideas!

  8. My absolute fav is the bed bug!! Classic! A 2nd close is the raining cats and dogs.
