Glen Rose - The Promise

The Promise

Interested in taking a short day trip from the DFW area with your family? Glen Rose, Texas is a great destination for you. Continuing through the last weekend of October, the wonderful heart-felt play called The Promise is running at Texas’s largest outdoor amphitheater.

The story is narrated by a grandfather and grandson who are spending time together at a riverbank in Glen Rose. Their conversation turns from dinosaur tracks (which Glen Rose is also known for) to the life of Christ. The play takes you, and the two narrators, on a breathtaking journey through Christ’s life: his birth, life, death, resurrection and ascension. The cast is joined by live animals on stage, which the kids will adore.

What a better way to start discussing the real “reason” for the upcoming Christmas season, than to surround yourself with incredible actors portraying the life of Jesus and the special “promise” that his father made him.

This isn’t your typical passion play as this musical and it’s award-winning director have taken their Christian influence to many corners of the world. The Promise was the first Christian production that was allowed into the former Soviet Union. A sister company opened The Promise at Will Rogers Theater in Branson, MO. It has been performed at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul, Korea, in South Africa and in many other countries around the world.

This performance is sure to bring the teachings of Jesus to your family and will leave a wonderful impression on your children’s hearts. They will talk about it and ask about it for years to come. Make your reservations online and hurry because the last performance of this year is the last weekend of October.

While people say everything is bigger in Texas, The Promise will prove to be the biggest and best musical in Texas you’ll ever experience!
