If you’re a fan of Laura Numeroff (author of the “If you Give” series), you have to take your kiddos to see Dallas Children Theater’s version of “If you Give a Mouse a Cookie”. Simply put, my kids LOVED this show. The actors were talented, the show was entertaining, and the play was short enough (about an hour long) to keep the focus of those younger than four years old.
The show runs until February 26th and if you click on the DCT’s site, you’ll see how the actor prepared for the “wild physical feats”. My hubby and I were impressed with all the circus tricks (juggling, balancing, etc) of the mouse (Karl Schaeffer). We couldn’t wait to meet the actors (the boy and the mouse) after the show. Not only were the girls allowed to meet them, but they received an autographed program (some eager fans took pictures with the characters).
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie is about a boy left home alone while his mother runs errands. The mouse interrupts his alone time with the initial request of a cookie. At times, the mouse is very amusing. On the other hand, the mouse has moments of being a royal nuisance.
