My kids love going to the aquarium. Watching sea life swim gracefully in a tank is both mesmerizing and educational. That’s exactly what it’s like going to Sea Life Aquarium in Grapevine. The first time we went my kids were mesmerized and learned so much from the Fin Facts along the wall. Sea Life Aquarium has recently opened a new interactive exhibit, Octopus Garden, and it’s spectacular.
As I watched these cephalopods, I realized that I had never seen an octopus that close before. Between being click happy with my camera and amazed at their sight, I probably could have stayed in that area the whole day. I think the Giant Pacific Octopus liked the attention as he showed off all his suctions for us. Did you know they have 200 suction cups on each tentacle?? That’s just one of the many things I learned about these amazing creatures.
About Octopus Garden
Octopus Garden is now open to the public and it’s something you don’t want to miss! From octopus and cuttlefish to nautilus, these distinctive creatures have almost supernatural abilities including camouflage, ink clouds and jet propulsion. Octopus Garden includes hands-on activities demonstrating some of the unique skills belonging to cephalopods.
