Teacher Appreciation

It is that time of year…Teacher Appreciation and End of School gift time! As a teacher for 13 years, let me pass on the message…PLEASE, no “teacher stuff”! These are the mugs, plaques, earrings, etc. made specifically for teachers (think apples, school houses, ruler decorations!). Trust me, your teacher has enough of it.

What would teachers like for teacher appreciation gifts? We would love something personal from your child to help us remember him or her, especially if it incorporates a picture of your child. Something that can be used up, like supplies for the classroom, a treat for the teacher, or a gift card to a favorite restaurant or coffee shop make a great addition to that art project or personal letter.

As a parent, I have tried to take this to heart.
