Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

The secret to these yummy cookies!

I love this cookie recipe because it is so easy to put together. My mom has been making it for Christmas since I was a little girl and it has always been one of my favorites. We have always added a little bit of red food coloring to make a light pink cookie, it makes it stand out and gives it a little something extra. I hope you like it as much as I do!

One note: I have only been able to find this cake mix at Tom Thumb grocery stores here in the DFW area. I have looked several times without luck at Walmart, Kroger’s and Albertsons.

Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

1 box Cherry Chip Cake Mix
1/4 cup flour
1/2 cup cooking oil
1/4 cup water
1 egg
Red Food coloring (optional)
1 cup (6 oz package) miniature chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Blend cake mix, flour, oil, water, egg and food coloring (if using). Stir in chocolate chips. Drop from a teaspoon onto an un-greased cookie sheet. Back at 350 for 10-12 minutes, until the edges of cookies just begin to brown. Cool on cookie sheet for about 1 minute; then move to rack to finish cooling.
