I’m pretty sure I’m not the only American Idol fan around here. Although it’s been a few years since I’ve been able to find the time to really invest in the show (these darn kids with their bedtimes right around the same time American Idol is on), I distinctly remember watching local Texas boy Jason Castro back in 2008 (you remember – the one with the dreadlocks!). If you had to miss the American Idols tour that year, have no fear – you can see Jason Castro live in Wylie on August 18th.
Jason Castro will be playing a show to benefit the renovation and support of The Wylie Senior Center. Tickets are just $15-30 and can be purchased online or by visiting the Wylie News Office in historic downtown Wylie.
The concert is at the First Baptist Church in Wylie; the doors open at 6PM and the show starts at 7PM.
It’s not often that an American Idol superstar is so close to home! Go early and pick up dinner first – enjoy some local flavor at the Ballard Street Cafe (which is right down the road from First Baptist Church of Wylie).
So, break out the “going out” clothes and head out to Wylie this weekend for some music and support a good cause, too!
