The nationally-acclaimed 3rd Annual Texas State Veggie Fair returns to Dallas on Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Reverchon Park, near Turtle Creek and the Katy Trail that’s accessible by car, bus, DART, and bicycle.
A celebration of Dallas’ growing vegan scene, the Texas State Veggie Fair offers an all-vegan menu of food, live music, games, and arts. Just like the Texas State Fair, the event hosts the Vegan Fried Foods competition, which attracts top vegan chefs from around Texas. Last year’s entries included spicy “chicken” nuggets, a vegan fried Reuben, and a fried pina colada dessert.
Panels will cover topics such as starting a vegan business, vegan fashions, and getting involved in animal rights. Speakers include Gene Baur, nationally renowned vegan activist, author, and co-founder of Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, N.Y. This year, the Fair is excited to welcome more vegan vendors, including beloved local food trucks such as Zombie’s Food Truck and Good Karma Kitchen.
