Carrie is a stay-at-home-mom to two children, Jack (3) and Claire (1). Previously an account manager for a local insurance firm, she now spends the days wrangling small children and wondering how the house got so messy, and considers the day a success if everyone is dressed by noon. She also likes horses, books, iced tea and lip gloss. She blogs about learning to be a Stay-at-Home-Mom at Carrie Elle.

Trains at Northpark

OK, parents of little train lovers (and by little, I’m referring to the size of the trains) – it’s that time of year again!

The Trains at Northpark are back, bringing wonder and delight to train lovers of all sizes.

Jack, wearing his complimentary conductor's cap, admires the trains.

If you’ve see the Trains at Northpark, you know how amazing they are.  Model trains chug over more than 1600 feet of track through the cityscapes of Dallas, New York City, Washington D.C. and more.

They even visit the State Fair of Texas.

Oh, Big're here in memory.

The Trains at Northpark are located at Northpark Center on Level Two near Barneys New York.  Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 2-12 (kids under 2 are free!).  You can also purchase discount tickets at your local Tom Thumb.  Proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas.

We love visiting the trains, and we love spending some time at Northpark after our visit (they go all out during the holiday season – not only are the decorations amazing, but they have tons of activities going on, as well – you can see a full schedule of events here).

The trains will be running through January 6, 2013.  Click here for hours.

Looking for other indoor holiday activities?  Visit the Galleria for an amazing Christmas tree, tons of lights, and fun with Santa!
