Not wanting to pass this opportunity up, my generous hubby offered to take the family to the meet and greet. Shortly after checking into our hotel room, I spotted Liz Cavalier (aka The Gator Queen) of Swamp People in our lobby. I made sure to hug and talk to her while my daughter obtained her autograph. I was star struck! I found myself blabbing nonsense and grinning from ear to ear. Prior to seeing her, I knew meeting these reality stars was a long shot. Who knew I’d actually get to meet someone face to face?!?!
With two kids in tow, I was hesitant to wait and stand in line two to three hours for an autograph and picture opportunity. Yet after meeting Liz, I felt more encouraged to fall in line for a chance to meet father and son team, R.J. and Jay Paul Molinere, Liz’s gator partner, Kristi Broussard, and the Gator Boys.
After waiting two hours in line, we finally got our chance. We think it was worth the wait. They were all very genuine people and to our delight, Kristi had announced she was pregnant!
The next day, the kids enjoyed the Chocktaw pool and we made our drive back to Dallas. We made one stop at an Amish Store — pretty cool to see a buggy displayed in the store parking lot. Our last stop was thru the city of Denison where we visited Eisenhower’s historic birth place.
We had a great time as a family.
