I'm a wife (18 years & still going) and mommy to two boys (9 and 2). I left my job in corporate America to be a full time stay at home mom after our second son was born. I'm now the CEO of chaos in the Simmons household. I'm an organization and crafting freak. I love things in it's place and I love to create. My creative side is the one area I let loose and chaos and mess can live (for a limited time). There's a certain kind of peace and connectedness that happens when life is simplified, organized, and you can create. Especially when you can relax and let your kids be... well kids. I can't wait to share with all of you mamas.

Something Different – Reptile Convention In Arlington, TX

Reptile Convention Arlington TXFor Christmas my youngest son asked Santa (aka Grandpa) for a lizard. So of coarse Grandpa obliged and are now proud parents (or I guess grandparents) of a bearded dragon, that our 2 1/2 year old named “Butt”. Yes, Butt. I thought he was trying to say “Bud”, but he quickly corrected me by enunciating the “t” sound when he repeated himself.

Butt has been a fascinating addition to our family and as a result of the new member we have been nurturing our youngest interest in reptiles. I received a text from Grandpa and this weekend at the Arlington Convention Center will be the North American Reptile Breeders Conference.

The trade show floor opens to the public on this Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm. There will be 50+ vendors for everything reptile and I’m sure plenty of reptilian critters.

Admission is $15/adult, $8 for children 5-12, free under 5 years old. You can purchase tickets online or if you purchase tickets at the door take advantage of their $2 off adult admission coupon. Come check it out. We will be there this weekend and stay tuned for pictures and my review.

You called it lol. Our bearded dragon didn’t exactly get a friend, since they are different species and we found out that lizards typically want to be the only one in the cage unless they’re male and female. Stay tuned for a review of the convention and the introduction of our new friend.
