If you are familiar with Crossfit, you know how intense it can be. You also know how it helps you become stronger and more focused. During the summer months, Crossfit Wylie offers a kids program geared to a younger person’s needs.
The kid’s program is similar to the adult program. The kids will have warm ups, just like the adults, and then they will move on to skill movements, and then to the actual workout. The kids will play games, complete obstacles, and have lots of fun while learning discipline and positive habits.
The Summer program is broken up into two 5 week series. If you are a Crossfit member, you are able to do your classes at the same time as your child, so you can get in a good workout while they are preoccupied with their own fun.
According to the Crossfit Wylie website, the first series is June 10-July 12. Ages 5-8 are M/W/F from 8:30-9:15; Ages 9-12 are M/W/F from 9:30-10:15. The second series is July 15-August 16 (same days and times as series one).
Prices for members: $75 for first child/ $25 for each additional child.
Non members: $150 for first child/$50 for each additional child; Non-Members can also sign up 1 adult and 1 child for $200 for the entire 5 weeks.
If you are looking into doing something fun with your kids, or at least keeping them off the couch and away from the video games, check out your local Crossfit. Sign them up for the Summer program.
